- Tooth decay or infection — If a tooth is beyond saving due to a cavity or infected to the point that the root and nerve are in danger, then removal is the best option.

To extract a tooth, we will numb the area using a local anesthetic. Then, we’ll loosen the tooth and remove it from its socket. Initially, healing will take 3 to 7 days. During this time, you should avoid strenuous exercise and smoking. It usually takes 3 to 6 months for full bone remodeling. Once you’re fully healed, we can place a bridge or dental implant, depending on your need.
